Q: How does Baking Soda blasting work?
A: The cleaning effectiveness of the Anilox Baking Soda formula is a direct result of its physical properties. These qualities allow it to be used in applications where damage to sensitive substrates must be prevented.
Baking Soda's Unique Physical Properties:
Anilox media is very soft (2.5 on Mohs Scale of Hardness). This means that blasting with Baking Soda is like throwing a snowball at a window (crumbles over glass), whereas using harder media such as plastic is like throwing a stone at a window (breaks glass).
High friability (easily crumbled) while maintaining consistent angular fractures results in smaller yet uniform cleaning crystals. This feature ensures that all sides, walls and the bottom of cells are thoroughly cleansed.
The neutral pH of Anilox media (8.2) eliminates any caustic effect on the roll.
A: We are the only company that can clean your roll ON-PRESS. Did you know most roll damage (over 90%) occurs once the roll is removed from the press? Our ON-PRESS service eliminates this risk, as well as keeping press downtime to a minimum.
If you prefer, we can clean your rolls OFF-PRESS at your facility or ours -- we can clean and ship them back within 24-48 hours of receipt.
Our high standards mean that you will be satisfied with the results. You will reduce set-up time, minimize quality issues due to poor print quality, which will result in lower production and scrap costs and keep your customers satisfied.
